Ms. Stoneburg's Kinder Color Parade

Room 116 has been showing Northrop Pride by participating in a Color Parade.  Today I stopped by the classroom to show the students my purple dress and purple shoes.  I sure got a treat today!  The class invited me to read the book Harold and the Purple Crayon and then take part in the class cheer.  Six friendly kinder kiddos were chosen to spell the word purple and the whole class taught me the cheer!  It was a great day for me in Room 116!!

4th Grade Movie Night

What an amazing turnout for 4th grade movie night.  Families joined together in the Northrop Gym for a viewing of Muppets Most Wanted.  Three hundred and thirty three people attended movie night with a profit of over $1300 to put toward our Widji Trip.  Thank you families for your support.

ESL Exit Ceremony

Congratulations to the students in our ELL (English Language Learner) program.  They have worked hard on their English skills and have officially 'exited' the program. These students are proficient in their skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in the English language.  English is a second language for most of our ELL students and for some it is their 3rd or 4th language.  These students should be proud of their of their multi-lingual status...WE ARE!

Walk-A-Thon 2014

I participated in my first Northrop Walk-A-Thon.  Although it was difficult to postpone the original date, I'm so happy everyone was flexible to make the change.  We had a beautiful day.  All Northrop classrooms had to opportunity to walk to Minnehaha Falls to see the sights and sounds of our beautiful community.  I've put my pictures of the day into a slideshow for all to enjoy.  Thank you PTA for providing snacks as we arrived at the falls.  We raised well over our goal of $5000.00 - Way to go.  Thank you staff for providing engaging instruction all along the way to the falls.  I can't wait for our next community event.
